“Did I miss anything?”
Or, in other words, “How do I know my book format is ready to upload and I didn’t forget something dumb?”
I’ve been formatting books for years, and I still question myself when I’m down to the wire with a book deadline! BUT having checklists for different stages can be a huge help.
As authors (and folks who help them), we know that formatting a book can be rewarding, empowering, … and overwhelming. That’s why I’ve created this Vellum book formatting checklist to streamline your workflow. It’s available as a Google Doc, a PDF download, or a Notion template (compatible with Notion’s free tier).
You can click through the things on this list in about ten minutes. Check it out here:
What makes this checklist different?
Unlike generic formatting guides, this checklist is specifically designed for Vellum users and focuses on real-world applications. It’s based on years of experience formatting books across multiple genres and has been refined through feedback from countless authors.
This resource is perfect for…
- First-time Vellum users who want to be sure they caught everything
- Experienced authors who have been away for awhile or who want to streamline their formatting workflow
- Publishing assistants handling multiple book projects
Have any questions this checklist doesn’t cover?
I couldn’t possibly add EVERYTHING on this checklist, so when you have other questions you can find me in my Facebook group, The Indie Author Toolkit.
